Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information YieldShift collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it in plain language and only collect what we need to run the product.
1. Who we are
YieldShift (“we”, “us”) operates the website at yieldshift.co, the free financial calculators and tools, and the YieldShift finance platform for founders. This policy covers all of them.
2. Information we collect
We collect information in three ways:
- Account information you give us when you sign up — your name, email address, and the organization details you enter.
- Data you put into the product — accounting, capital, cap-table, and vesting records you create or import. This is your data; we process it to provide the service.
- Usage and device information collected automatically — pages visited, approximate location, browser type, and similar analytics used to keep the product reliable and improve it.
Our free calculators run in your browser. The figures you type into them are not sent to or stored on our servers unless you explicitly save or export them.
3. How we use your information
- To provide, secure, and maintain the product and your account.
- To send essential account, security, and transactional messages.
- To respond to your requests and provide support.
- To understand usage in aggregate and improve features and performance.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the product — for example, our cloud database and authentication provider (Supabase) and our email provider (Resend) — and only to the extent needed to deliver the service. We may also disclose information if required by law.
5. Data retention and security
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and we apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it. You can request export or deletion of your data at any time (see “Your rights” below).
6. Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. The product includes CSV export so you can take your data with you at any time, and deleting your organization removes its records. To make a request we cannot fulfil in-product, email us and we will action it.
7. Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for authentication and for keeping you signed in, plus limited analytics cookies to understand product usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
